Exploration of sexual harassment practices among women using bus rapid transport service in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania

The study aims to gain a better understanding of sexual harassment acts experienced by female passengers on the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) operated UDART in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and recommend factors for reducing practice. specifically investigated that contribute harassment, passenger coping strategies with alleviating harassment. In-depth interviews approximately 30 women who regularly use public transport two UDART/BRT officials were conducted using qualitative design. data was collected phenomenology strategy, analysed thematic analysis strategy. Swahili transcriptions translated into English MAXQDA 10 [VERBI Software, Marburg, Germany]. nature customers includes; unwanted contact, unintended touching, abusive words, gestures. Moral decay, mental disorders some men, lack strong legal enforcement, poor transportation arrangements, patriarchy system are all expose transportation.
